Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

A highly significant and exceptionally scarce original British quad for The Empire Strikes Back, widely regarded as the most sought-after poster from the original Star Wars trilogy.

This example was produced for London Underground display, where the majority were trimmed to fit advertising units. As a result, untrimmed examples are extremely rare. The artwork captures the film’s scale and emotional depth through a masterful montage: Han Solo and Princess Leia in a central romantic embrace, Luke Skywalker in action, and Darth Vader looming ominously over the composition. Supporting vignettes depict key sequences from Hoth and deep space, all unified by bold, iconic typography.
