Italy
Italian film posters are the most painterly in the world, and the formats are unique to Italy. The Locandina is the small format used in cinema entrances; the Due Fogli (39x55 inches, also called the Two Sheet) and the Quattro Fogli (55x79 inches, the Four Sheet) are the imposing display formats. And the Fotobusta - a set of illustrated scene cards - is Italy's equivalent of the American lobby card, each one individually hand-painted rather than photographed.
Studios regularly engaged Italy's finest illustrators to reimagine Western and domestic films for Italian audiences, producing images that bear little resemblance to any other market. Our Italian collection carries original pieces across the great genres, researched and presented to collector standard.
