ABOUT THE ARTIST
Paul Karslake was a British artist best known for his powerful portraiture of iconic cultural figures. After early work on major architectural and commercial projects in the UK and United States - including collaborations with Disney and CBS - Karslake returned to England in the 1980s to focus exclusively on fine art. He later founded The Art House to manage his expanding body of work.
In 1990, Karslake received a major public commission for a landmark artwork at London Docklands, earning the Evening Standard Environmental Award and election as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). Under the guidance of former Sotheby’s Director Derek Johns, he further established his position in the fine art market, completing major commissions and holding a solo exhibition in St James’s, London.
His work has been commissioned and collected internationally, with portraits of figures including The Rolling Stones, Johnny Depp, Sir Michael Caine and Grace Kelly remaining among his most recognisable pieces.
